Wake up, roll out of bed.
Walk to the bathroom, brush the hair on your head.
Put on some clothes, walk down the stairs.
Look out the window, see the weather is fair.
Turn the corner to the kitchen, start cooking some eggs,
Bacon, and ham, while at your feet the dog begs.
Drop him a snack, because no one will see.
How much more perfect could your life be?
Now here she comes, the love of your life,
And she dissipates all of your stress, woes and strife.
Coffee in hand, she walks up to you,
Says Good morning, dear, you reply Good morning too.
Then you kiss her gently and hold her tight,
'Till you hear a sound coming from your right.
Peering over, there he stands,
Your six year old son, an aspiring man.
He rubs the sleep from his eyes and walks up to you,
And looks up at you with his eyes so blue.
He says Good morning, dad, and gives you a hug,
And into your arms he fits so snug.
So you smile to yourself and laugh,
Such a perfect life you have.
But soon you wake up, only to see
That what you have witnessed was only a dream.

The art of love is largely the art of persistence.
